Parkes Hotel Football Club v Rawson Homes Raptors

Parkes Hotel put up a valiant effort against Raptors in difficult circumstances. The club was saddened by the news that attacking midfielder Michael Hackett was seriously injured in a horse racing accident on Saturday, which was on the players minds.

Parkes Hotel started with a defensive formation, hoping to catch raptors on the counter and force them out wide. The plan was working with raptors struggling to break through the defence and Parkes Hotel making a few breaks with some excellent through balls to Kyle London. Hayden Westcott gave raptors the lead with a superb strike, from outside the box. Raptors took the score to 2-0 through another goal by Daniel Clarke late in the first half, courtesy of a Brent Tucker through ball.

Raptors came out strong in the second half strong in the second half scoring 5 goals, demonstrating why they are tipped by many to win the first division title. Parkes Hotel got some consolation through a late goal in the second half from Kyle London, who received a perfectly weighted through ball from Malcolm Bruce, taking the score to 7-1 where it remained till the final whistle.

Special mentions must go to player of the match Lucas Lees who defended with conviction and thwarted so many raptors attacks and Kyle London who was awards players player for an outstanding performance. Thanks to Zarna Gould and Emily Dean for sitting on the subs bench and making an appearance on the field in the second half.

On a final note, Parkes Hotel Football Club wishes Michael Hackett a speedy recovery and sends best wishes to his Family.
